Gift Card Holder

Here is a gift card holder I made using the Tim Holtz Sizzix pocket die, Flourish die, mini leaf die, mini holly die, and Vintage lace die. I made the Poinsettia cutting the mini holly and leaf dies  out of sticky back canvas and then colored them with Tim Holtz distress reinker and ink pads. I then coated the flower with Claudine Hellmuth Multi Medium and after it was dried I added some Clear Rock Candy Stickles along the edges of the leaves.

12 Tags of 2012- January and December

For the first tag I used the silver distress stain and Evergreen Bough reinker for the background. The reindeer was  cut from Tim Holtz Reindeer Flight die and then embossed using white embossing powder. I then stamped Tim Holtz snowflake stamp at top with Evergreen Bough and added some tissue tape and letters cut from the Vintage Market die.

for the the second tag I used Festive Berries and copper Distress Stain for the background. The Poinsettia was made from the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die, sticky back canvas, Distress reinkers, rock candy Stickles,  and a tutorial on Youtube to make it.

12 Tags of 2012- October

I didn't think I was going to get this tag done but I finally did. I didn't have Tim's printed tissue paper so I made my own with regular white tissue paper and the curiosity definition stamp. I also didn't have the new dry glitter so I took silver glitter I had and then used the pitch black alcohol ink over top of it after it dried. The Candlelight fright and Vintage Market Alphabet dies were also used. My tag didn't turn out the greatest but at least I gave this technique a try.

Halloween ATC

I made this ATC for a color swap I was in which was featuring colors purple and green. I used stamps from Cherry Pie along with Tim Holtz distress inks for the background colors.

Purple Bracelet and Earring set

The picture really doesn't capture the purple colors in these but here are a pair of earrings and a bracelet I made recently.

12 Tags of 2012- September

I got a jump start on this month's tag as  I love steampunk and was excited to get started. I didn't have the mini typewriter die so I used the mini camera die instead. I have been waiting to use my new Diamond Plate and Riveted Metal textured fades and knew this was the perfect time to get them out and play. I didn't have the pitch black alcohol ink so I used black acrylic paint and just wiped off the excess paint. I also used stamps from the Remnants and the Odds & Ends 100th collection sets.

12 Tags of 2012- July

This technique did not like me one bit. I tried this 8 times and this was the last one I did and figured this was as good as it was going to get. Tim makes it look so easy :-) I used the following Tim Holtz dies: Rosette, flourishes, and vintage lace.

12Tags of 2012- June

For June's tag I wanted to use a picture of someone I knew instead of the one Tim posted so I went through some of my grandma's photographs and found an extra copy of this one of her sister Edith. I  didn't have the nibs Tim used so I just used my distress markers and love how this technique turned out. I also didn't have the stains he used except for the picket fence, so for the back ground I used the white distress stain along with distress inks. I really enjoyed this technique of tinting photos, it really adds a neat effect.

Thanks to everyone who commented on my tag! I appreciate the comments very much!

12 Tags of 2012- April

Here is my take on the April's tag. I tried making the blue bird with distress inks that Tim did but for some reason I couldn't get the blue distress ink to be as bright as his so I just cut the bird out of printed paper. I used Tim Holtz Mini Bird, Branch, and Tag and Bookplates dies, Tim Holtz Curiosity definition stamp, along with a Cuttlebug border embossing folder, and distress inks.

Grungy Monday #39

I made these atcs for the Grungy Monday Challenge using Tim Holtz's technique for alcohol ink plaid background. When I first seen this technique I thought it looked pretty cool but when I went to try it myself I just couldn't get the plaid to turn out as good as he does it. I used Tim Holtz and Cherry Pie Stamps for these. Sorry the pics aren't the greatest, the glossy cardstock made it difficult to get a clear pic without too much glare.

My Niece Zoey Scrapbook Page

I am going to try nad upload more of my scrapbook layouts so I thought I would start with the one I made recently. This is a picture of my niece and for the layout I used a sketch found at http://sketchsavvy.blogspot.com/2012/03/sketch-73-12-x12.html
This sketch was made for a 12x12 page but I mostly make 8x8 so I sized down the sketch to fit mine.
The paper I used is from My Mind's Eye and I used 3 Tim Holtz Dies: Mini Rosette, Vintage Market Alphabet, and Vintage lace. I cut the vintage lace strip from white cardstock and using a mini mister filled with Spun Sugar Distress ink, I sprayed the die cut. I love how this turned out and wish my camera would pick up the pretty pinks and glitter.

12 Tags of 2012- March

For the background I took printed paper from the DCWV Mariposa stack and using the Tim Holtz flourish mask and blending tool I colored over the mask with Peeled Paint and Shabby Shutters Distress inks. I just painted the butterflies black with acrylic paint and then did the mosaic with paper from K&CO Que Sera Sera paper. I didn't have glossy accents so I used the Crackle Accents over the mosaic pieces. For the dangly charm, I took glass pearls and colored them with alcohol inks and attached them to a lobster claw clasp.

Bracelet

My friend wanted me to make her a bracelet, I hope she likes it.

Jewelry

The first pair of earrings were made with vintage chandelier crystals.

Black and white bracelet I made to go with my necklace.

This is my first time making a necklace. It took a couple hours of making it with trial and error. I took small chain links and put them between clack and white beads and then finished it off using a vintage chandelier crystal.
