Tim used his snowman die for his tag but because I didn't have that die I used the embossing folder with the same image and embossed it on grunge paper and cut out the image and painted it. Tim Holtz 12 tags of Christmas 2011

12 Tags of christmas day 2

For Tim's tag, he used his resist Kraft paper but since I didn't have any I made my own by stamping the word on Kraft colored chipboard with clear embossing ink and then embossed it with clear embossing powder. After I did that, then I proceeded in coloring the tag's background. Tim Holtz 12 tags of Christmas 2011

Rosette Snowmen

These little guys were kind of difficult to make not to mention a lot of work. For my first 2, I think they turned out okay. I used both the Tim Holtz Rosette dies for these.

A thanks goes to Karen for her tutorial! Thanks Karen :-)

Birthday Card

This card is for my Brother whose birthday is in July.
The 77 is the year he was born and on the bingo card I highlighted the number 34 with Diamond Glaze because that is how old he is going to be. I love how this turned out. All Tim Holtz items used here (except for the paper that was used for the banner, it was a piece of scrap paper from DCWV).

Even More Dominoes

Stamped and painted

This group is made using Cherry Pie Stamps

I was asked the share the techniques and supplies I used to make these dominoes so here it goes :-)

First I soak the dominoes in bleach overnight to get the shine off of them (I have tried sanding but didn’t like the finish it left when I stamped and painted.)

The ink I used was Stazon

Paints used:

-Jacquard Lumiere

-Car model paints (I used these the most and you can get them at places like Wal-Mart where they have the car models you can build.) They sell 2 different kinds of this paint and one being enamel which I didn’t use much because it did a number on my paint brushes.

I also have used Prisma Markers and even colored pencils but you need to spray the domino after you have stamped it with a workable fixative so the stamped image doesn’t smear when you color it with the markers or pencils.

This next tip is what really makes a lot of the dominoes look awesome. Say you have a stamp image that is of a person as the main focal point or if the main focal has a lot of details (i.e the Alfred Hitchcock domino) before you stamp the domino, paint the domino in a skin tone color and after the paint is dried stamp your image and viola! This helps keep the great details of the stamped image and then just paint around the rest of the image with another color to cover up the skin tone that doesn’t belong. I also did this with the Africa Postoid stamp with the elephants in another post; I painted the domino with grey paint and then stamped the image and painted in the other areas for the sky, grass, etc with the appropriate colors.

When you are done then just spray the dominoes with a clear coat. I hope this helps and if anyone has any more questions please feel free to ask.

I made this tag for my mom of her father. I love how it turned out. I made the rosette using Tim Holtz Rosette die. I wish I knew who made the brad I used for the center of it because I love the way they look. (I have had them for several years and just now using them.)

My sister-in-law asks me to make her a bracelet for her new sister-in-laws birthday using flowers from her SIL's wedding. The brown beads are handmade out of clay and in person you can really see the crushed flowers in them.

Altered Pocket Watches

I made these 2 pocket watches a few years ago when Tim Holtz made them popular.

Egyptian Shadow Box

I made this shadow box a few years ago. It looks much better in person.

Diaper Cake

A Diaper Cake for my cousin-in-law's baby shower.

Baby Shower Card

This card was made with the Wild Card cart from Cricut. My cousin and his wife Jen are expecting a girl and plan on nicknaming her Georgie Girl (George after Jen's father who passed away a couple years ago.)

These cards were made using a Tim Holtz on the edge brackets Sizzix die. The first card was made for my niece who just turned 2 and was born on St. Patricks day. For the last 2 cards I used paper from DCWV Mariposa Stack.
